Wow! That took a long time. On Tuesday, April 18th I announced the winners of the March Madness contest. I also announced that I thought that everyone was a winner and that I was going to make a set of Knit Notes for every single contestant. Some of you called me crazy. Some of you said that was totally unnecessary. 98% of you were great sports and said it was your pleasure to help out. Well, I was so overwhelmed that I just felt that I had to personally thank every single one of you. Of course, that's about the time my divorce proceedings heated up and my arm starting acting up. Do you think the two are related? Hmmmmmm.
Anyway, I've been working diligently for the past 7 weeks on assembling all the Knit Notes despite my bum shoulder. I am quite pleased with the finished product and hope you will be, too.
The knit swatches ready and sorted by donor.
Here the printed cards are in the assembly line waiting for little knit swatches to be attached.
Beware a woman and her hot glue gun
Finished Knit Notes sorted by knit swatches from the yarn sent by EACH DONOR - now ready for mailing.
The sealed envelopes ready to go to the US Post Office and for destinations across the country (and even one in Canada!)
I've packaged up the final prizes for Melissa (two skeins of purple Lorna's Laces sock yarn), Deb ((she selected this cute Little Lambs from Kidding Around), Gerlinde (2 skeins of Jaeger Natural Fleece and Jodi's pattern to make this capelet), and finally, Stacy (adorable Lucky Sheep stitch marker donated by Christine).
AND, I made two hundred Knit Notes to give to "everyone's a winner". I packaged two Knit Notes in an envelope along with a thank you note with a small personalized note to each contestant, plus extra Knit Notes for those of you who went above and beyond the call of duty.
I also made hundreds of additional Knit Notes as the first wave of my inventory. I'm so excited to get this project off the ground. I really do love helping others, even on a small level.
Thanks again for all your help and especially all your patience.

Any way to buy some notes and make a belated donation? They are darling.
Thanks,
Sylvia

Knitting does help everything go smoother. Even if it's tiny knitting.
Hope everything continues to go well for you.

Received the adorable knit notes yesterday and they made my day! What a large endeavor to embark on, my hands cramp thinking about it but you must feel very gratified having made your first inventory as well. I will absolutely keep one but look forward to sending one to another knitter & will have to purchase some once you get them up for sale. By the way, when I sent my ends in I did not have a blog yet, but I've now started one. Still figuring out all the details of links, etc., but I'll be sure to add you as one of mine.
Tschuss!

Hey, my box came today, too! The notes are adorable--thank you!! (And so is the sheep--Mom and I are still trying to choose a name for him . . . or her . . . we're still not sure.)

I got mine today too! And from my own yarn- how neat! Thanks so much! (one of my toothpick ends broke too, but I honestly don't care.) Good luck with selling these!

I got mine today - thanks! It was such a nice surprise (I didn't read the blog entry yet). They are really cute - I can't wait for you to put them up so I can buy more. The end of one needle did break, but I think I can glue it. I'm going to give one to a knitting friend this weekend who is going through a hard time, and I think the other is going to go to my mom - I know they both will love them. Thanks so much - you made my day!

Hi-- I got my Knitnotes today & love love love them-- I can't wait until you have them up so I can buy them! I can not believe you made ones with the yarn I sent, to send back to me! I already mailed one to a friend that matched a pair of socks I had knitted for her! The only thing-- on both of them, the toothpick ends broke off-- still just as cute & no one will miss it-- but maybe try a different type of toothpick for the next round??? GOOD LUCK!

Hey, guess what I got in the mail today? My Knit Notes! I love them, and I am proud to have been able to help you out, even though I only had a wee bit of sock yarn to donate. I hope you make a ton of money for the charity! And a big THANK YOU for the notes!
