Today Primogeniture came home from school with a gift he made for me with his own two hands.
No - not the knitting - the knitting needles! My fourteen-year-old son made them in Technology Shop at the high school. The shop teacher gave him a funny look when he said he wanted to make knitting needles. He had never had that request before! I'm so thrilled. The needles are simply gorgeous and they smell good (made out of cedar). Here are the fine points: Not too short. Not too long. Not too heavy. Not too pointy. Just perfect! They're bigger than a US Size 15. Since they're handmade, they're not an exact number. I have a pair of 12mm needles in my stash and these are approximately the same diameter. I think they'll be perfect for a quick scarf in this thick wool/acrylic fleece blend.
Thank you Primogeniture. I really love my gift.

My goodness, the needles are gorgeous. What a thoughtful and talented young man you have for a son! He knows what his Mom likes!!!!!

Hugs for a great kid! Those needles will make your knitting bag smell Marvelous!
Tell him I still use the rolling pin my great-grandfather carved for his bride. Wooden gifts rock!

Oh, my goodness! What a gift to be treasured for life! Maybe someday they'll be passed down to a granddaughter (or grandson!) that you've taught to knit.
You have very cool sons, but you knew that already. ;-)
