Generally, I am a very organized person. But since I've transitioned into a stay-at-home-Mom my life has become quite hectic and chaotic. Things are messy more often than not. This drives the born-organizer in me really crazy. But this quiet holiday I decided to finally organize my knitting needles. I don't even want to tell you how many US Size 1 40" long Turbo Addis I own! Every time I need them, I can't find them, so I buy two new pairs (because I knit both socks at the same time). This is really getting to be a little embarassing as everyone at Knitting Central knows I just purchased the same needles only a few days before! But no more. Today I sorted my needles, put them back in their pouches, and placed them all in this file box with pockets for sizes 000 to 15
Please keep your fingers crossed that this time the method to my madness will work for me.

Good for you.. now could you stop by Ohio on your next trip west and uh,, get me organized? heheh

The new system will work unless Wilma decides to help with the filing!

All hail to the surge to organize that comes with the approaching calander change. I think I'll join you and go throw something away!

Yea....good luck with that one! I put all of mine years ago into their pouches and they all slipped quite nicely into a soft-sided, insulated lunch bag. Then this past year I picked up a worm binder from Old Bass Pro shops...I'm waiting right now to pick up my 3rd one. http://wishingiwasknitting.blogspot.com/2008/08/worm-binder-and-needle-storage.html One for the original addi's, one for my double points, and the third one for my brand new..santa brought...addi click sets. Easy peasy, zip it up with 8 zippered pouches inside! Perfect for all the little things you want to bring with you..on the planes even! I travel with them all the time...and I won't leave home without either the worm binder, or the addi's!
Good luck with yours!

I love this idea and I think I will borrow it if you dont mind. Since I moved I have a smaller personal area even though I bought a house (long story)
Thanks for the idea!
