Truffle Brownies, dang, now I feel the need to go make a batch:P

Geary Fowler

I usually make brownies from a box - either Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker!

Domestic Extraordinaire

most brownies I make are of the Betty Crocker variety. Years ago I made some killer brownies that sound very similar to these ones. I lost the recipe-will have to give these a try and let you know how they work out.

So wished I had those brownies for breakfast this morning yummm..

Brownies...yum!! My go to recipe is the "One Bowl" recipe on the back of the Baker's Chocolate squares box. I use that as my starting point - among the additions at various times: cinnamon, coffee, peppermint coffee & crushed peppermints for a holiday tea, nuts, etc - each batch is always just a bit different! I always use my brownie pan & cut them into very small squares so they are brownie bites. :)

Huh. I've never even heard of buttermilk brownies!

This recipe from King Arthur Flour sure looks good: http://www.kingarthurflour.com/shop/RecipeDisplay?RID=4

And, did you know there's a whole thread on Ravelry about brownies? http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/knit-n-bake/115065/1-25

I posted my Gram's brownies on my blog http://yeaiknit.com/blog/?p=742 (along with a "healthier" version as well) :)

Those look soooo much better than the ones I just made from a mix. I really appreciate you sharing that recipe. My son bought me a Baker's Edge pan for my birthday. Every brownie is an edge piece! :-)

Lynn

Betty Crocker's Original Supreme brownie mix with real Hershey's syrup! LOL

My new favorite is from HungryGirl.com. Mix only one box of devil's food cake and one can of pumpkin; no eggs, no water, no oil. Divide into 12 muffin cups and bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Gotta cut the fat and calories when you're still addicted to chocolate and you're over 40.
