I got to use my early birthday gift this weekend. In addition to grilling freshly caught blue fish over a fire, and making a wild rice pilaf, we made a lovely ratatouille with the farm fresh vegetables in my new Dutch Oven.
It was amazing! We sliced fresh zucchini, eggplant, onions, tomatoes, yellow squash, peppers, salt and pepper with a little bit of canned tomato sauce and baked it in the Dutch Oven for about 20 minutes. It was the perfect compliment to the fish and rice.
Unfortunately, I have no knitting to show you from the weekend. I planned to make some progress on a pair of socks I'm knitting, but unfortunately, I broke 4 of my dpns in my bag when I tried to overstuff it. Silly me. Fortunately, the knitting is still intact, and the dpns can easily be replaced.
But the outdoor meal was a huge success and I'm thrilled to pieces with the Dutch oven cooking.

Confused in Chicago. It looks like tinfoil to me.....

You mean you didn't find appropriately sized sticks and fashion new doublepoints?
