BF and I spent Friday night and Saturday morning with our dear friend Angel who drove up to Seattle from Portland to see us. We had breakfast Saturday morning and then walked around downtown Seattle, Pike's Place and headed toward the outdoor sculpture garden when suddenly things looked familiar.
"Hey. There's a knitting store right over here!" I exclaimed, recognizing the street where Lorette and I parked the other day to go to So Much Yarn.
Showing BF and Angel how important I was, I immediately got us buzzed through the security gate and we were on our way to the secret yarn shop. They were impressed I tell you - very impressed. Nothing's too difficult for my loved ones! Angel mentioned at breakfast that her orange Almost Argyle socks that I made a few years back are almost worn out. I didn't guarantee anything, but she did pick out some lovely green multi-toned Ty-Dy Socks yarn in color 1556.
Also, since we were doing a lot of walking around Seattle, I decided to cast on for some gray/black socks for Secundogeniture with 4% cashmere (because he asked for cashmere socks and I said NO that I wasn't going to knit cashmere socks for an 11-year-old because it was too expensive) but this yarn was affordable and it only had 4% cashmere. I spent the last two days knitting his Lana Grossa Meilenweit 50 Seta/Cashmere for my little guy.
By the time I got home to Westport last night I had 75% finished on the socks... only to discover that I knit entirely too much in one day and loosened up considerably over the course of time. It was such a difference that it looked like I knit these socks on different sized needles. I didn't. Both socks were knit on US 1s (the same needle in fact). I ripped out the first sock and began re-knitting it - much looser this time. I hope to have it finished tomorrow.
Oh. Am I supposed to be knitting my Olympic knitting project? Are you keeping tabs? I really cannot resist a bright shiny object, can I?

Wow, that's amazing that your tension could change that much...better luck on the reknit :)

You crack me up with your BSO syndrome! Okay, I'll be confessing later on my blog that I too had BSO and cast on for Coraline. I am at the point where I need to seam my sweater and we were in the car yesterday - no seaming in the car thank you.
