I'm working on finishing my 10th Wonderful Wallaby. After making a few of these sweaters, I've learned some of my preferences. My favorite personal change to the pattern is to finish the hood with a three-needle-bind-off rather than a kitchener stitch. There are many reasons for this.
- It's faster.
- It looks very crisp.
- I stink at the kitchener stitch on those first five garter sts.
So there you have it. My confession to a little weakness in my knitting repertoire, or perhaps I should admit to a penchant for things that are quick and easy.

Nothing to confess about! I love a 3 needle over a kitchner ANY day.

Very nice. I hope to be able to knit a sweater someday, sigh. For now I am still on lace scarves, after perfecting socks with sport toes!

Love how the new Encore twists look in that wallaby! I have been looking at that type in the lys over the past few months and wondered how it would knit up. Thanks for being my 'test' case! ahahah...
Now that I've picked up yarn for a couple of sweaters, can't wait until they're done so I can go get some for me!
Question, am I seeing correctly, that you're running a contrast color thread for the bottom of the pick up row? genius! Now, why hadn't I thought of that?

I did the same with the hood on the Wallaby I just finished. I think it adds a bit more stability to the hood, or at least that's the story I'm using;)

Knitting is like that.... as long as you are satisfied with the end product, whatever goes! And each to his own. I love your WWs.
