Every spring, I have a fun ritual that I now come to think of as one of the highlights of May. I put on a dress (not a very common experience for this stay-at-home-Mom), wear some cute shoes, put in my contacts (another rare occurrence), bring my checkbook and cash, and head to the Mad Hatter Tea Party. When I arrive at the spot of the generous hostess, I open the oversized hat box from the back of my car and put on the piece de resistance: a large brimmed hat with a fun ribbon. Then I'm off to an afternoon of raising my pinky, sipping tea, eating finger sandwiches and hors d'oeuvres, and shopping for wonderful items while chatting with friends.
Here we are: Julie, Kerry and Jennifer
Here I am with Joanne (of the sampler afghan fame). Joanne is the chair of this event and has been organizing this wonderful day nearly single-handedly for 8 years! Joanne - we love you!

I brought Michelle along to her very first Mad Hatter. She had so much fun, she said next year she'll definitely be sporting a hat.
Lest you think I spend all my days lazing around wearing fun hats and sipping tea, this event was to raise money for Bethel Recovery Center. It was the perfect day for doing a good deed while hanging out with the girls. Would you like to join us next year?
