res·pite
[res-pit] - noun, verb, -pit·ed, -pit·ing.Hmmm. Interesting. I had this word in mind as a title for my welcome back post... and was surprised to read its full definition. I guess I usually think of respite as "a delay or cessation for a time" and wasn't really aware of the distressing or trying aspect associated with this word. Maybe there's a subliminal message in there somewhere. I love blogging. I love knitting. But I think that sometimes keeping up with daily posts and constant knitting do provide more wear and tear than I was willing to acknowledge. I'll have to ponder this a while.
In the meantime, I did enjoy my holiday respite. It was wonderful. I enjoyed every minute of it. I spent time with my family. I relaxed. I was a tourist. I was with the ones I love the most. Re-entry into our regular school/work/life routine on Monday morning was a bit of a shock. I think we'll all recover. I will continue to knit. I will continue to post. I might slow down a bit, but I will be here. Perhaps I'll just allow some more respites going forward. That might be a very nice thing.

Never let the blog be a burden Jennifer. You and I post often, but there are many favorites of mine that only post once a week or so. Re-entry is a bitch as they say! You probably just had a little re entry overwhelming you. :)

Good words. One of life's intervals...

I'm coming out of my comment respite to wish you a Happy New Year! I read every post, but don't comment often enough, I know. Blogging and knitting every day can turn a hobby into a job. Taking it a little slower this year sounds like a good way to keep it fun.

I always think the week after Christmas is a good time for a "respite". Gives us time to reflect, enjoy family and set new intentions for the new year.

I took a break for about seven months.

Considering you sometimes post two times in one day, I think you deserve a bit of a respite. As long as you don't fade away; I enjoy reading your blog and would miss you!
