That seems to sum up my life this January. Snow. Snow. Snow. Socks.
This is what has me awake at night these days:
See that gigantic icicle in the corner? I'm terrified of ice dams and damage especially with the forecast for this week's storm. Yesterday, we shoveled off the upstairs porch - all 600 cubic feet - which apparently equals 10,000 to 12,000 lbs of snow!
When I'm not shoveling or worrying about shoveling I've been knitting the Tesserae socks. I'm on the feet of both socks - so the end is in sight. I'm quite pleased about this accomplishment.
The next storm starts tonight sometime after midnight. I'm going to head out to do some grocery shopping and then I'll be prepared for the next round of shoveling and knitting. I am prepared.

I remember ice dams from our years in the Midwest. That one looks like a killer! Walk elsewhere!
Better yet, stay inside and knit.

OMG I can't even imagine! Here in Alabama, we hope and pray for snow and never get more than a couple of inches - IF we're lucky! That icicle is spooky. But I love the socks! I need to look up that pattern.

Hopefully you won't get all ice like we in Indianapolis are getting...supposed to be close to 2 inches worth! With the winds whipping around and the ice weighing down, we could easily be without power for several days. Too cold and too dark for lace knitting. Guess I'll just have to finish that generic baby blanket I started and maybe start another one.
*Sigh* Will this winter ever end???

That is a crap-ton of snow! YIKES! Hope this storm isn't as bad as they are predicting.
The socks look great. Such a pretty color and pattern.

I too have to shovel my upstairs deck first thing when it snows otherwise it will melt and refreeze on the downstairs deck causing a very icy mess.
What a nice strength training workout to keep your sock knitting muscles ready to go.

I'm so glad I live in a generally snow-free climate!

I am prepared for our first big Chicago snow that is predicted to hit soon, tomorrow. Luckily I am home for the week and have nothing but yarn stash to play with LUCKY ME!
Love your socks......get ready for your Take and Replace BOX arrival JENNIFER!

The icicle made me gasp - those scare me, too. Good luck!

Isn't this snow thing getting old? That is a very impressive (aka dangerous) icicle. My parents are dealing with an ice dam and it is no fun. I hope this storm is less than what is being predicted.
Lovely sock by the way. Knitting is a great distraction to the snow.
