It's really quite unbelievable. We're covered in 12 18 inches of snow --- again. No school. No activities. We bought bread, milk and eggs (because it seems that everyone MUST buy bread, milk and eggs before a snow storm). Now we are sitting quietly wondering when we should start shoveling.
It's a good day to stay inside and knit.
It most certainly doesn't look like we'll be grilling anytime soon. Although, as a child, my mother always insisted that a path be shoveled out to the grill for year-round BBQs. I might have to implement that rule this year. I think it's a good one.
How about you? How are you handling the neverending snow in the Northeast?

Hmmmmmmm...by watching it on tv?
We've had some crazy cold weather, but no snow. Last week the spring tornado season seemed to get started a bit early. It was a wild and windy night.

You can start shovelling any time. It's better, actually, to shovel every few hours while the snow is falling, rather than waiting to do one big job at the end.
We in the DC area know.

Just watching you guys....over here In Chicago the weather has been mild. A few new dustings of snow every other day or so. NO bitter cold yet, no big storms.
I take a bucket of hot water and pour it on the barbeque when it looks like that here.....must be able to barbee

I can't get John to grill anything in the winter. Of course it would get wet on the way to the house from the rain, but still.

This time I'm watching it from afar with sun and warmish weather. Last time I was sitting in similar weather. Good luck!

I handle it by living in Central Florida! I did live on Long Island for 5 years, but thankfully we didn't get that much snow, maybe a foot a year. Stay warm!!!

I second the grill path (that way when if you lose power you can have hot food).
Up in Boston, we have the "French Toast Alert" for severe weather situations - http://www.universalhub.com/french-toast
Have a great day. Wish I was hunkered down and knitting, but living close to public trans, I am actually at work today.

Heh, last week I tried to get Pete to shovel the grill out. He didn't go for it. Any other year I might do it, but I'm not risking my back right now. Any other year if I started, he'd probably come finish it for me. I would love a piece of grilled fish right now!

We got another snow day too. The mothers on the play ground yesterday were beginning to express concern about having to attend school into July.
As a plus I'm getting some mean muscles on my arms from throwing that snow up onto the huge piles we have:)

I cannot tackle the snow one more time. The last storm wrecked my shoulder. Now I have to wait for my strong 14 year old boy to wake up and dig us out. That could be awhile! And we ALWAYS dig a path to the BBQ. :-)

I was just saying to my husband we haven't had burgers on the grill in ages! I plan on getting more knitting done today.

Believe it or not we have some lake effect snow in our area, but all those massive snowstorms that have disabled the Northeast have missed us completely. Snow days are fun, but I would assume that they've run through all of the school snow days. Will they have to make up any days this year?
