I know that you are probably getting tired of hearing about nothing more than snow this and snow that. Believe me, I know. So imagine my surprise this morning when I woke up at 5:45 a.m. to check the school closure announcement for today's storm. I went to my email and saw this:
FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2011, ALL WESTPORT SCHOOLS WILL BE OPENING ON TIME. STEPPIING STONES PRE-SCHOOL WILL BE OPENING ON TIME.

You know this means only one thing. We've been having way too many snow days and they're worried about how the rest of the winter will pan out. Will we be going to school until June 30th? I think, my Dear Watson, that we might.

We've already had so many snow days here in the south that my kids will be going to school for 3 (1/2 days) on upcoming Saturdays.
This will really mess up my competitive 5K running schedule for Saturday mornings.
I hope you all stay safe and warm,
Carolyn in NC

At 6 this morning my phone rang with the news that we will have a half day today instead of the full day that was scheduled. I'm sure my town is getting worried about school in late June too.

Yes, sounds like they are worried! I smell an early dismissal coming, so they'll have a "legal" day of school.

Be careful out there! I think we can't go past June 24th contractually. Our superintendant sent out a note yesterday spelling out all the options for making up time. We have 2 extra days built in (182 vs 180) so we could just lose those.
