It's Finishing Friday and I've created a monster. Actually, it's all Michelle's fault. She shared a link with me for Chicken Egg Cozies and I went wild.
In the 1970s, my Grandma Grace used to make these to fit over the L'egg's Pantyhose Eggs. As soon as I saw the pattern, I knew I had to make a whole bunch, er, clutch of hens.
Half our knitting group is getting on the band wagon with these. You can use any worsted weight yarn, a few googly eyes, some felt, a very small amount of fingering weight yarn for the coxcomb and some thread the same color as the felt. Oh, and some plastic eggs.
These may be the happiest little things I've ever made. I am channeling Grandma Grace. I expect requests for these from all my brothers and sisters and cousins. Let's see how many I get.

So cute! I think I'm going to have to make one...or two...or three......

They are just too cute! I can see why you'd want to knit a whole barnyard of them.
