I don't know about Mary, but Jennifer's garden is looking mighty fine these days. Well, at least my hydrangeas are bursting forth with color.
And as usual, the true blue color isn't showing through. These look faded and burnt. I assure, they're not. But you'll just have to trust me on this one. I first fell in love with this gorgeous flower in Brazil where they're called Hortensia (as they're called in many parts of the world). What name do you give this flower and which color is your favorite? Terry - we already know yours is blue! ; )

I call these snowballs or hydrangea. They remind me of summer camp because they grew all around the eating hall.

Mopheads! It always makes me smile to call them that :)

i saw the most beautiful version of hydrangeas at Flowerfall on Post Road in Westport, Ct. one bush had 4-5 different soft colors ranging from lilac to blue. does anyone know if this multi-colored version has a name?

ours are old fashioned white...I think the bush may be as old as the house....or as old as it was when moved down the street...about 50 years ago. to the house's hundred years....
Fireman got a gift of a climbing hydrangea this year for his 50th. we dont know what color the blooms will be. It is sooo cool

You know it! I have two hydrangeas in my yard, on I planted eleven years ago and it bloomed the first year only and the other has bloomed erratically. This year they are both in full bloom! I'm amazed and can't figure out what made the difference!
