Kathy B organized a wonderful January swap to wash away the winter blues. She came up with a theme based on the Chinese New Year's Year of the Dragon. You were supposed to swap just four things with your buddy - sock yarn, your favorite lotion or hand cream to soften that scaly winter dry skin, a pattern and something about a dragon. I was paired up with Helen who is stationed in Germany. I got the BEST gift ever.
Helen snuck in not one, but two of her favorite hand creams - Neutrogena's Hand Cream - which is also a favorite of mine! There is some amazing Wollmeise... and guess what? It's called Drachenblut. Now I don't speak any German, but I think that means Dragon Blood. How cool is that? There's also a very cute key chain fob with a pig on it! This girl from Iowa may or may not have a cute little collection of pigs including one oversized one that is sometimes seen wearing a Santa hat. Helen is so thoughtful that she even sent her gift in the most adorable decorative box with some aromatic tea and four Drops sock patterns for me to pick and choose my favorite. Which one should I use for my Wollmeise?
Hey! What happened to the German chocolates? I swear there was a package of the most delicious hand crafted chocolates. They didn't seem to last long enough to be photographed.
Thanks Helen! You were more than generous and you certainly made my winter a whole lot brighter! I hope you liked your gift, too.
