As with all good things, our Shakedown came to an end.
We woke up extra early to a foggy morning to help everyone break down camp, turn everything in, oh, and of course, make tons and tons of coffee. Coffee really helps the process run more smoothly.
Remember how the campsite looked like this with all the Scouts and tents?
Before you knew it, in a few short hours, the entire campsite, 2,000 Scouts and leaders had departed and our subcamp was returned to the empty field it had once been. Honestly, it looked like no one had even been there. Gotta love Leave No Trace in practice.
Then we, the final staffers, loaded our gear on the bus and headed out. Good Bye Summit! We can't wait to see you again next year! Go Big. Get Wild. You betcha!
Oh! Guess what song we sang all the way home?

take me home!!! to the place.....
awwww. what a week! Amazing that all those tents came down so fast!!!
