I picked up a project I started swatching for last December. But I never got past the swatch stage. I'm making a blanket and I picked two new patterns that are knit all-in-one piece. But let's be honest - who wants to knit an entire blanket over the summer? Can you just say it with me - - "I'm melting!"
So I decided to go back to my all-time favorite blanket - The Sampler Afghan - that I've made about a dozen times already. It's knit in strips of six different swatches at a time, then joined together and edged. I like it because there are 30 different swatches for the entire blanket and it appeals to my sense of "instant gratification." I can choose to knit one swatch and finish it while watching a movie or a ball game.
And if I get bored with a swatch, I'll be done with it in no time at all and on to the next swatch.
So I picked up the needles and my orange yarn on Wednesday and started anew. I knit the first swatch two times as I missed TWO rows. I hate it when that happens. Oops! But Now I'm already on my fourth swatch and making slow and steady progress. At the rate I'm going, I could actually have this done by the Fourth of July. Let's see if I have the stamina to keep up this pace.
