Early this morning Lori and I trekked into Manhattan to meet up with a special knitting blogger buddy.
We arrived at the Comfort Diner early and took a self portrait. I'm wearing my Faery Ring and Lori is wearing her Rockefeller.
True to its name, our diner served up some great breakfast comfort food.
We had great chats, shared great stories, reminisced about posts from years gone past. Does anyone remember the dish soap apron pattern?
Did you guess yet who our mystery guest was?
We met with Mariko aka Super Eggplant and her husband for breakfast. Both Mariko and Lori were thrilled to see the store next door to the diner - the Japanese Culinary Center - filled with all sorts of Japanese food, dishes, cutlery and more - so we took a gander after our breakfast. We also took a quick tour of Grand Central before Lori and I had to return back to Westport on the train. It was a great treat and such a fun outing. I forget how much I like going to the city. I need to do it more often. Of course, the enticement of visiting a kindred spirit is always the perfect incentive.

It was so much fun to see you and to meet Miss Fried Hash! Peter was astounded by the energy and awesomeness of the knitting community. Thanks so much for meeting up with us and for all the goodies!

Looks like some good food and some good fellowship.
Do you drive into the city or can you take a train? I have never driven *in* NYC -- although I've driven *around* it several times. The GW bridge is down right frightening at rush hour! LOL
