I thought you'd need something concrete to help you gauge the amount of snow that actually fell in Connecticut. So I used my faithful backyard BBQ grill. Here are my time lapse photos from the last 24 hours.
Here's my old faithful grill at about lunch time Friday - after six hours of a steady light snowfall. Only about 2-3 inches.
Just before dusk, I decided to take another progress photo - a small increase in the accumulation - now about 5.5 inches. The worst scheduled to come overnight. But no more pictures until the morning.
OK - that did not disappoint! That's a LOT of snow! Looks like we got about 2 feet. Fortunately for us, the storm system did not spend as much time hovering over our town. We originally were supposed to have blizzard conditions for six hours overnight. At about 10:00 p.m. that window had dwindled down to just a two-hour window. I can only imagine how much more snow we would have received had we gotten the full six hours of blizzard conditions. I know my friends further north got hammered. Hope everyone's safe and sound. Please be careful shoveling out!
Meanwhile, I'll be knitting. What about you?

WOW!!!! It's not just what's on the grill but what's all around it!!!! what was the final number?

You probably don't want to read this, but ... we are going to the beach today.
This is the best time of year to hit the sand before the heat and crowds make it miserable over there.
Stay safe and warm.
