Piecing together the tops for the various quilts is just one part of the learning curve. Now I'm ready for the actual construction of my quilt... and the quilting.
I started by watching this video about Beginner Free Motion Quilting
I lied. I didn't start by reading the directions. Like a guy, I jumped right in and just did it.
After I jumped in - feet first - I thought I should probably watch the tutorial.
One of the first things in the tutorial is a recommendation not to cross over your stitches. Oops! I will definitely practice some more stippling before I do this on my actual quilt. But it was great fun. I love the overall effect of this stippling as it gives the quilt that puffy quilted look.
Oh and I definitely bought the 505 adhesive quilting spray instead of pinning my quilt sandwich. Fabulous!
