I had some leftover fabric from my first quilt - and I decided to put it to good use.
But what to do?
I folded the fabric in half and serged the fabric on two sides, then inserted the funnel into the open end, and filled the sachet with lavender.
Only fill it about 1/3 to 1/2 full. You don't want your sachet overly full.
Serge the last side closed. Notice that I left the serged edge on the outside. These are not intended to be delicately decorative sachets like my Grandmother used to make complete with lace edging and embroidery. These are simple, functional sachets that can be made quickly and easily.
Lickety split you have eight lovely lavender scented sachets. Now wasn't that easy?
I put these sachets on my yarn shelves to ward off any evil moths that might try to wreak havoc with my stash. After the photo op I just randomly slid them under the yarn, between the yarn. As I look at my ever growing out of control stash, I think I could probably knit 50 more sachets and have just about the right amount. I might use some retired dress shirts and recycle them. That would be a good use of material.
