James and I have been friends since summer 2004. We met through Typepad on our blogs. We were virtual friends for many years and met in person when James came to New York. Every year we exchange gifts. James' gifts are always prompt and early. I swear he must mail them in October. My gifts are always belated and arrive sometime after the New Year and hopefully before Christmas in July.
This year, James knit these adorable white mini stockings with rhinestone toppers. They were filled with holiday candy from New Zealand. No surprise here... that disappeared quickly. Then he sent the most gorgeous color of sock yarn from his store - J.O.Y. - Joy of Yarn in a purple color called Lucky in Love.
It's my favorite color. I need to find a great pattern to knit a pair of socks for Yours Truly.
Every year, James knits a spectacular handmade gift. Here's my collection. Three amazing gift bags. Two are in his signature two-toned honeycomb pattern. Then four sets of miniature stockings. I couldn't find the last red and green striped stocking. It's hidden on my tree somewhere. I'm sure I'll find it when I take down the tree this week.
So thank you James! You know my gifts are always sent at random times. I'm not sure why that is... I'm just not nearly as organized as you. But I have some special little surprises that will be on their way.
Thanks again for being a great friend. I love everyone I have met through knitting and blogging. It's been great fun meeting everyone in person from around the world. It makes our huge world just a little bit homier.
Happy New Year!
