Duke and Otis have had a pretty good summer. But it was very quiet with their boys traveling. Imagine their joy when Primogeniture and Secundogeniture returned home this week.
They were attacked and given lots of bulldog love and licks.
A boy and his dog - reunited.
And now they're back to running up and down the stairs to see what's happening in the whole house. More noise. More to explore. More to keep these four-legged boys occupied. Everyone is happy. Life is good.
I was home last weekend for my high school reunion and enjoyed some of the best sweet corn I've had in ages. There's nothing like Iowa for sweet corn and pork chops. Yum.
I posed with this 7-8 foot tall corn in a field near my sister's house. This is most likely seed corn - but it's supposed to be knee-high by the fourth of July and this is massive just three weeks later. Wowza!
But I'm not the only one enjoying delicious corn this summer. The dogs enjoy it too.
Duke and Otis found one of Wilma's old toys - a plastic corn on the cob. They had fun sharing it for a few hours before totally destroying it. About the only toy they can have is a Nylabone. Everything else they destroy in minutes. Fortunately, only one piece of furniture has been destroyed by these two love bugs. Oh, and several remote controls, game controls, etc.
But there you have it. Summer corn is enjoyed by the whole family. What's not to love?
