My Mother's Favorite Landscape

Photographs and paintings that included barns were always my mother's favorites.  I guess it was probably because she was a farm girl through and through.  Today as I was heading to my meet-up with a certain virtual knitting blogger buddy of mine, I simply had to stop the car and snap this picture in honor of my mother.  She would have enjoyed this scene.  I did.

It's actually a double Eye Candy Friday shot since you get to see the cerulean sky twice.  I just love this reflection.  Can you guess where it is?  It's a day trip that is roughly equidistance between our homes.  I bet you'll be heading to this area soon.  Very soon.

Eye Candy Friday

I'm not sure if this is Bugle Weed or just a blue weed, but it sure looks pretty in the corner of my yard.  I love blue/purple flowers, especially when they contrast with beauties likes these white bleeding hearts

If I can get the irises, tomatoes, sage and lavendar planted tomorrow I am contemplating stopping by the nursery to get some purple petunias and some sort of yellow or orange deer resistant flowers to contrast in the flower bed by the mailbox.  We'll see.  If you see pictures, you'll know I was successful.  It is a mighty tall order to fill, though.  You'll notice I'm already giving myself an out.  Just in case.  You know.
