Mississippi Mud Cake

Mississippi Mud Cake

Here's Bethany's recipe for Mississippi Mud Cake. It's delicious.

Warm in a pan

2 sticks of butter (=1 cup)
1/2 cup cocoa

Turn off stove and add one ingredient at a time:

2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Bake in a greased and floured 9x13 cake pan for 20-25 minutes (ours took longer!). Remove from oven and sprinkle with:

2 cups marshmallows

Return to oven for 3-5 minutes

While the cake is baking - make the following frosting and spread it over the cake with melted marshmallows:

1 stick butter (= 1/2 cup)
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
Milk or cream as needed for consistency
