Here is the Christmas tin filled with cookies from Madison's Cookie Bake. Most of the recipes are standard recipes. We made sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, gingersnaps, shortbread surprises (with a Hershey's Kiss wrapped inside) and finally these Brazilian fudge balls called "brigadeiro" rolled in holiday themed sprinkles). Here is the recipe for the brigadeiro
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon butter
4 tablespoons Nesquik or other chocolate powder
chocolate sprinkles (or other colors if you are having a theme)
small bonbon cups found at your local confectionary store
In a heavy saucepan, stir the sweetened condensed milk, Nesquik, butter and honey. Stir over medium heat with a wooden spoon, stirring constantly so as not to burn for approximately 15 minutes or until mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides and bottom as you stir. Remove from heat. Grease a 9x9 Pyrex dish with butter. Scoop the fudge mix into the dish and let cool at room temperature. In the meantime, pour the sprinkles into a small bowl (cereal bowl size). Open up the individual bombon cups.
Generously butter your hands. Roll a small teaspoonful of fudge into a ball. Roll in the sprinkles. Place in the bombon cups. Store in an airtight container and serve the same day or next day. Do not refrigerate.
