Wow! This is the most thrilling knitting project I've ever been a part of. I can hardly contain my excitement. The PTA Community Outreach Committee at my son's former school is setting up a knitting session during recess for grades K-5. They've asked me to help out and I'm thrilled to do so. We're going to have the children knit three different items for different charities -
- Save the Children - Caps to the Capital
- Warm Up America
- Hats and Scarves for local charities
That's why I'm writing today. I need your help with supplies. I'm sure that you have leftover yarn, large sized needles and possibly even knitting looms. I need the supplies ASAP, so there isn't much time. I'm going to send out some big prizes. Here's what we need:
- Chunky or bulky yarn
- Baby yarn for preemie caps - preferably cotton
- US Size 15 straight knitting needles
- US Size 10 straight knitting needles
- Round Knitting Looms
Mail your donation by October 21, 2006 to Major Knitter, PO Box 3063, Westport, CT 06880.
