What's the Best Way to Fix Dirty Old Socks?

If your kids come home in socks looking like this, what do you do? 

I have the best solution.  Throw them away!  Then have your little munchkin don a pair of handknit socks.

Everyone loves a pair of handknit socks.  Even the family pet.

OK - Maybe Wilma's just a bit bored by all these socks.

Just so long as said kid doesn't go out and do that to a pair of nice, hand knit socks. ;-)
